The best all-round herbal for babies and children, and safe in pregnancy, nursing, and for long-term use; easily available in tea bags at any supermarket; good for adults too; use for nervousness, emotional upset, restlessness, anxiety, insomnia, colic and teething pain in babies, nausea, earache, asthma, fevers, childhood infectious dis-eases, intestinal worms, flu symptoms, and diarrhea, especially in children; prevents nightmares; cleans and heals wounds and ulcers (of all kinds, internally and externally); burns, including those from radiation therapy, inflamed skin and mucous membranes, skin irritations of all kinds, eczema, mouth and gum dis-ease; diuretic for cystitis and kidney infections, appetite tonic; aids PMS, brings on menses; use for headaches, indigestion, heartburn, gas, upper respiratory irritation (see Eyebright for eye irritation), stomach ulcers, ulcers and irritation of entire gastrointestinal tract, inflammation and inflammatory dis-eases, allergic reactions, hangovers; good as a lightening hair rinse for blondes, as a sitz bath or salve for hemorrhoids, in baths for muscle aches and fatigue, in salve for wounds and skin irritations, in compresses for neuralgia and toothache, in tea for emotional stress; use as a weak tea with peppermint or catnip for babies’ colic.
