Inhibits several inflammation-causing enzymes, is an antihistamine, antiprostaglandin, fights fungus, and inhibits tumor growth, but may not be safe because of liver toxicity; use for inflammatory conditions, allergic reactions, respiratory infections, sinus congestion, asthma, cramps, irregular menses, diarrhea, Candida albicans, colds, flu, sore throat, urinary tract infections; helps in stopping smoking; anticancer and antitumor properties may reduce uterine fibroids, cystic breasts, and internal and external benign and cancerous tumors; use externally for skin dis-eases and parasites, eczema, ringworm, skin fungus, herpes, athlete’s foot (can be combined with tea tree oil), chicken pox sores, snakebites, cold sores, wounds; use as a poultice for joint pain, arthritis, rheumatism, sciatic and back pain, neuritis (nerve) pain. Antibacterial, antiamoebic, antioxidant, anticancer, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antiprostaglandin, antimicrobial, diuretic, tonic. Do not overdose or overuse; use other safer herbs wherever possible; stop if symptoms of nausea, fever, fatigue, jaundice, or dark-colored urine occur; do not use if you have liver dis-ease; not for use in pregnancy or breastfeeding.
